I spent the first week in August out east with my boyfriend's family and they like me enough to indulge my love of art history with a stop at the National Gallery of Art and Sculpture Garden while we explored DC!
I love taking pictures with (and of) famous works that I have the possibility of incorporating into my curriculum because it makes it more real to students to see me with them and lets them realize the possibility for them to one day see them!
We also climbed a mountain in the Shenandoah National Park, toured Skyline Caverns, explored Antietam Battlefield and visited all the monuments in the National Mall in DC.

I'm so glad you got to visit DC! Isn't it great? I was there on the 14th and we went to the American Portrait Gallery! Just to see these amazing paintings, monuments, and buildings is such a treat, isn't it?! Having your picture taken with the art is a great idea! I hope you had fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing! I'm more of a all-inclusive resort beach girl, but I couldn't pass up a trip like this!
